Theory in practice

This seems like an excellent visualization to activate the chakras. I will have to try this.

The chakra meditation that I have generally used imagines that the unactivated chakra is like a little ball. One would then visualize that their hands are kneading and pulling at the ball, like pulling open a dinner roll, until it glows brighter and brighter and brighter, becoming more supple and vibrant.

I asked my other-self: Which do I need to work on... The method came to mind shortly after

Such a good example of intuitive listening! Both your and Quicksilver's methods sound like good exercises. So much has been written about chakras and it's interesting reading but I feel second to personal experience with them as you are doing --- whether alone or with someone guiding a meditation/visualization. I haven't purposefully done that kind of work in quite awhile.

Mind you; this isn't a traditional way, and i only have done this after a lot of work with my chakra's in more... 2d directions... (Most of my discs kind of overlap... alot)

Me and my Higher self 'talk' without 'talking' *shrugs* I will think of a question and an answer (Sometimes the form varies... Widely) pops into my mind's eye. Like a really messed up version of pictionary. ^_^

So far; aside from the changes in vision which are kind of... Profound... I have found i can't keep my third eye in that high velocity ball state for too long at a time...

It starts to throb in the center of the forehead (Traditional center of the third-eye) and then after that your other two eyes start to feel dry and ache... (Like playing video-games or staring at a computer monitor for WAY too many hours) At that point i've kind of taken the precaution of hitting my 'OFF' switch and letting it slow back down to 2d...

If anyone is willing to try it, i'll share my experiences, but i don't want to sabotage the results by spilling to the untried eyes of others... (Not being mean, just a bit scientific..) But not so much as to remove safety...

HIGHLIGHTS!!

1)On/OFF switch for it.

2)Throbbing in the central third-eye or Aching of the two physcial eyes, Turn it Off! From what i've noticed those side effects tend to linger for a few hours.. (Good night sleep remedy - I didn't have the opportunity... But time DOES help)

3) DO NOT Try right before bed... (Hence the no sleepy) I was WAY too distracted to try sleep... hehe

Other than that, The Light Illumine, and Peace Favor You All!!

Callused - Love your post on chakra meditation. I know a very little bit about this...lol.. I know what a chakra is...lol, so you technique is a way bit over my head. Would you be so kind as to recommend a good book or posting on this for the neophyte? I have tried meditation on numerous occasions...but I always seem to fall asleep in the process... which is a bit disappointing.

Blessed Be.

Sorry for sucha sluggish reply, i tend to be a bit more preoccupied when state side (Wife and a daughter will do that to a guy.)

When i was first learning, i avoided laying down. Find a big comfy armchair, or couch to sit in, slouch relax etc. Whatever makes it easiest for you. Some find guided meditations easiest, some require a focus (or task to accomplish) while meditating. Others seek Zen, mental blankness. For some, that is as easy as picking a wall and zoning out (Kids are a good example) and other's it is like pulling teeth because their mind won't slow down and cool off.

As a slight addition to this post:

It is much less taxing on the body to have all your chakras at that heightened state, as they feed and build off of one another. It takes a bit of getting used to, but the results are... Nice. I'm the only one in my small group of friends who has done such a thing to my energy body, I'm also the only one who can move the styrofoam ball out of the circle... ^_^ Coinsidence? I think not!

The Light Illumine, and Peace Favor you all!

Thanks MarsViolet and Callused... I will check the links out and try the technique. I guess it's like anything... it takes practice to be good at it. I know what you mean about being preoccupied... have a wife and three kids.. I tend to be a great deal more focused when out on travel.

Love and Light!
